The Old Colony State

The intense month of traveling is over. We came back from Boston, New York and Martha's Vineyard in Massahussets on Monday. One day later than expected due to severe winds in the Boston area resulting in the cancellation of the ferry that was supposed to take us from the island Martha's Vineyard  to Cape Cod on the mainland. We arrived in San Francisco late on Monday evening after almost 18 hours of traveling with ferry, bus, taxi and two flights.

Anyway, we had a great journey and it was exciting to explore a whole new part of this enormous and diverse country.

I visited Harvard University and the Peabody museum in Cambridge and it was like returning to Europe and the UK (not very strange considering the area was first colonized by the English and it is called New England). It was autumn in the air and quite cold but the sun was shining and the leafs demonstrated every shade of yellow, red, brown and dark green.

The entrance to Harvard campus. Very impressive!

Harvard was founded i 1636 making it USA's oldest university.

                                                   Me, myself and I!

Harvard bookstore. The flags exhibit the Harvard motto "Veritas" meaning "Truth".
